Personal Support and Coaching
Coaching sessions last 1 hour. They can be scheduled at any time during the Nutritional Therapy Process. They are commonly used in two ways:
1. At the very start of your nutrition programme
If you are unsure about whether this is the ‘right time’ for taking up Nutritional Therapy, I recommend a one-off coaching session to explore this more fully and make a realistic plan of action. Nutritional Therapy often involves making significant changes to your food and lifestyle - it is important that you are in a place where you can take on these changes before proceeding so as not to waste money or become disheartened.
In a first coaching session I will help you look in more detail at your goals and objectives for Nutritional Therapy identify any problems and think about alternative sources of support if this isn’t the right time for you. We will use a systematic coaching process to identify what kinds of strategies work best for you and consider specific work to manage any ‘blocks’ that may arise in the programme. Once you have worked through the process, you will feel ready to move forward and make all of the changes needed.
2. Where obstacles have arisen or motivation is flagging during the nutrition programme
Specific coaching and sessions can be booked as part of the nutrition programme at any time. Motivation can often start to flag around months 3-4 and this is an excellent time to consider a coaching session. Common scenarios include
- Identifying techniques to resist cravings
- Overcoming unhelpful feelings of revulsion or anxiety about trying new foods
- Overcoming apathy or flagging motivation
- Managing family life and day-to-day commitments while on specific diet plans
- Moving on from a history of failed ‘diets’
Pleae call if you think a coaching session may be helpful.
